The Results Are In! Infidelity Trumps Dieting As The Best Way to Lose Weight

Eager to lose weight? Dump Atkins, have an affair! That’s the word from, the UK’s biggest dating website for married couples, with their research painting a clear picture: more people are losing weight by having an affair than by dieting.

The new research disproves the myth that there are no shortcuts when it comes to shedding pounds after a poll of 1,600 female customers found you can in fact cheat your way slim.

Respondents were posed the following question: ‘Have you found an affair a more effective tool for losing weight than a diet?’ An overwhelming 60% of respondents said yes.

25% claimed that they were unsure, while the remaining 15% disagreed with the majority verdict.

Spokesperson for Illicit Encounters, Claire Page, states, “Our members join Illicit Encounters to find someone who can offer them the romance, passion and desire that has gone missing from their current relationship. But now, we’re seeing that having an affair directly results in some undeniably positive side-effects.”

“Everyone wants to impress – whether it’s their husbands, boyfriends or someone entirely new – people lose weight for others as much as they do it for themselves. Our members have spent all too long in an unhappy relationship, so they want to make their new one last,” she adds.

“Consequently, they push themselves that little bit more. They walk a little longer and run a little faster… they want to feel better about themselves, all to impress the new man or woman in their life. Put down the weight-loss pills ladies and have an affair!”

Shelley, a customer from Gravesend, gave further credence to the positive effect that an affair has on one’s weight, “I’ve always tried diets. Atkins diet, NHS diet… you name it, I’ve probably tried it – but I never enjoyed it. There was just too much maintenance involved. Keeping track of my calorie count, curating special shopping lists, doing away with most of my favourite foods… it’s a little much.”

“To be honest, it isn’t something that I had originally anticipated, but since meeting new men on, I’ve been eager to better myself. I’ve exercised more, I’ve engaged in new activities [with him], and being more sexually active can only help.”
