It isn’t gardeners, and it’s not firemen, either. It is, in fact, accountants that are the sexiest profession going.

That’s according to a survey of over 800 women on IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s leading dating website for married people and the leading authority on infidelity, with 21% of them voting accountants as the sexiest of all the professions.

CEOs came in second with 16% of the vote, due to their status and affluence, while doctors came third with 13%.

Other sexy professions included lawyers, builders and firemen, who received 11, 10 and 9 percent of the vote respectively.

So, what exactly makes a job sexy?

Well, the survey revealed that women found solvency, ambition and kindness as the sexiest qualities, while professions that were associated with poor pay, a lack of intelligence, and being general ‘dead-end’ jobs, were a turnoff.

This would explain the surprising turn of events that saw I.T. professionals scoring higher than gardeners (7% to 4%).

Katie, who responded to the survey, said:

“I’ve never actually met an attractive gardener. My gardener is called Steve, and he isn’t that hot.”

Bad news for Steve, then, but while he might not be able to live up to unrealistic expectations, he can take solace from the fact that it could be much worse.

The professions that were deemed the least sexy, receiving less than 1% of the vote, were waste collectors, customer services staff, lorry drivers and postmen.

The site’s spokesperson, Christian Grant, explains:

“When someone says ‘sexy’, your first thought might be a ripped, topless fella that looks like he’s been stripped straight out of a trashy pop music video.

“As pleasant a thought as that may be, it’s not reality. While a physical attraction is important, rich, confident and creative folk do more to stimulate women’s minds, and that can’t be underestimated.

“Looks alone aren’t enough, because once that initial attraction wears off, you’re left with someone who lacks the confidence and intelligence to hold a half-decent conversation.”

Butland’s Hot, Rooney’s Not – England’s Sexiest Footballers Revealed!

• Stoke goalkeeper Jack Butland has been voted England’s sexiest footballer, closely followed by Liverpool’s Adam Lallana and Jordan Henderson
• On the other hand, Wayne Rooney was the least sexiest footballer, receiving just 0.3% of the vote, and the ‘I Don’t Care How Rich You Are, It’s Still A No’ award
• James Milner won the Gazza’s Tears Award for the footballer most likely to cry after sex
• 21-year-old John Stones won the You Know You Shouldn’t, But You Probably Would award
• Chris Smalling won the Least Likely to Last the 90 Minutes award

England’s lions are raring to disappoint go in this summer’s European Championships, and while sports journalists up and down the country are ready to analyse, criticise and eulogise their performances, there are more important questions that are yet to be answered: who is England’s sexiest footballer?

IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s leading dating website for married people, surveyed almost 2,000 of their female members, who voted Stoke goalkeeper Jack Butland as England’s sexiest footballer with 13% of the vote.

He was closely followed by Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Eric Dier (11%), Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana (10%), and his fellow teammate and Liverpool captain, Jordan Henderson (8%).

But while it was relatively good news for England’s midfield, their strikers, who are used to scoring on the pitch, have had their ability to do the same off of it seriously questioned, with Golden Boot winner Harry Kane, Premier League winner Jamie Vardy and England captain Wayne Rooney occupying three of the bottom five positions, with 1.3%, 0.8% and 0.3% of the vote respectively.

While many are hopeful that this could finally be England’s year on the pitch, the general consensus was that this year’s crop was relatively underwhelming compared to years gone by, when it comes to sex appeal that is.

IllicitEncounters.com’s spokesperson, Christian Grant, explains:

“No Becks, no Gerrard, no Ashley Cole – there are many fan favourites who won’t be pulling on that England top again, and their replacements, although talented, have left a lot to be desired.”

There were several special awards given, too.

Wayne Rooney won the not so coveted ‘I Don’t Care How Rich You Are, It’s Still A No’ award, finishing rock bottom (although, in truth, it’s an award that could be shared by many).

Given the relatively young average age of this England squad, the special You Know you Shouldn’t, but you Probably Would award was handed to Everton defender John Stones (21), who edged out the PFA Young Player of the Year, Dele Alli (20), and fellow Everton midfielder, Ross Barkley (22).

The Least Likely to Last the 90 Minutes award was given to Manchester United defender Chris Smalling for, er, yeah, while Liverpool midfielder James Milner won the Gazza’s Tears award for the player most likely to cry after sex.

And, while technically retired from international duty, John Terry won the Lifetime Achievement award due to his track record of playing away.

“I’ll have another round please!” Women Declare Bartenders as the UK’s Sexiest Workers

Bartenders, throw your towel cloths in the air and wave them like you just don’t care – you’ve just been voted the UK’s sexiest workers! The news comes from a survey by IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s leading and longest running dating site for married people.

Of the 2000 women who were surveyed, 15% declared their infatuation for Britain’s bartenders. Spokesperson for IllicitEncounters, Christian Grant, said: “Bartenders are hot. Bars, pubs and clubs are always conscious of their employees’ appearance, so it’s no surprise to find that these venues are the perfect melting pot of buff men.”

Lily, a 30-year-old actress from London, said: “A muscular guy in a tight shirt serving me alcohol…sounds like I’ve died and gone to heaven!”

Grant adds: “It can get a little too awkward for bartenders sometimes. When you’ve got guys and gals vying for your attention left right and center, it can make the already difficult task of serving drinks to a packed venue a little unbearable.

It’s particularly bad around the Christmas period. Everybody is a little too jolly, with bartenders having to carry out the odd bloke or two who’ve overestimated their ability to hold their drink, having that one Jägerbomb too many.”

Not far behind bartenders on IllicitEncounters’ survey were gardeners, closely followed by fire officers.

It’s not all fun and games, however, as the unsexiest professions were also revealed.

If you’re a truck or bus driver, I’m afraid you’ve received the unwanted accolade of least sexy profession in the UK.

“What is less sexy than driving a bus or a truck? Nothing, apparently,” says Grant. “We’re all appreciative of the work that these people do, but that doesn’t translate well when it comes to how hot we perceive them to be.”

Among the truck and bus drivers were waste collectors, traffic wardens, and funeral directors.

Women Vote the Scottish Accent as the Sexiest, But It’s Bad News If You’re from Essex

It’s the luck of the…Scottish? Yes, a quarter of British women have declared the Scottish accent as the sexiest, trumping the previous winner, the Irish accent.

In a poll conducted by IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s leading dating website for married people, the Scots trumped their neighbours with 25% of the vote. IllicitEncounters’ spokesperson, Christian Grant, explains: “A thick, deep accent exudes manliness, and on that criteria, the Scots have left the rest comfortably behind.”

“The popularity of the Scottish accent is also in no small part thanks to the array of Scottish actors, from Gerard Butler to David Tennant, and James McAvoy to Ewan McGregor; hot guys, hot voices,” added Grant.

Despite being knocked off their perch, the Irish accent still remained a popular choice among women, solidifying second place with 20% of the vote. It’s bad news however for the Essex contingent, with just 3% of women finding the dulcet tones of an Essex lad sexy.

“TOWIE might dominate the ratings, but that doesn’t necessarily translate well for blokes,” said Grant.

“The Essex accent can often be associated with the Joey Essex’s of this world and, for reasons best left unsaid, that isn’t a good thing.”

But it’s not all good news for the Scots; they might have dominated the male charts, but they didn’t fare so well in the female category, with men preferring a more European pallet. The French accent topped the men’s choice for the sexiest accent, closely followed by Spanish and Italian accents.

Connor, a 37 year-old sales manager from Watford, said: “A French accent is synonymous with elegance, class and romance…not to mention it’s unbelievably sexy!”

“The French accent is undeniably appealing because of what it represents: French cuisine, haute couture, style – French women possess this inimitable appeal that men find hard to resist,” explained Grant.

How do they do it? Women reveal the sexiest professions – but high profile womanizing professions such as Politicians and Footballers fail to score votes.

A 2014 study conducted by the UK’s leading extramarital affairs site IllicitEncounters.com has revealed the male professions that women find the sexiest.

The study asked over 2,000 female members of the dating site what they thought the sexiest profession for a potential partner was and why. The top job title to get a ladies attention is entrepreneur; it’s unsurprising that creative, risk taking and intelligent entrepreneurs top the list, with examples such as Dragons’ Den star Peter Jones, Richard Branson (Virgin), Michael Smith (Mind Candy) all being ranked as top female crushes. However, straight-laced bankers and stockbrokers occupied the second place profession with women describing them as ambitious, ruthless and confident.

According to the study, the least attractive professions are professional footballer and politician. Probably not helped by the over exposure of the world cup and recent election campaigning, women viewed them as over-confident, vain, self-absorbed and as having a reputation.

IllicitEncounters.com spokesperson Mike Taylor commented: ” With the World Cup over (Well for England anyway) and the footballers antis on the pitch now moving off pitch, they could find themselves struggling to score as women find their over-confidence incredibly off-putting. Women who are looking for a new lover often look for a man who is as attractive on the inside, as well as the outside; they want someone they can have an emotional and physical connection with. It appears that whilst footballers may be attractive on the pitch, off the pitch most women feel they would have little or nothing in common with them. So despite their fame and fortune, most women find their arrogance, and reputation as a real turn off.”

Other professions that made the ‘hot’ list include doctors, firefighters and musicians. Firemen were described as heroic, caring and brave whilst doctors were seen to be professional, motivated and protective.

Sally 44 from Yorkshire, who uses IllicitEncounters.com to meet married men commented: ” I am looking for a date with someone who can provide stimulating conversation. I find men who are overly vain and egotistical off-putting, and I can’t imagine anything worse than going for dinner with a politician – I want to be excited, not bored to sleep, and I doubt they are dynamite in the bedroom either.”

Women also found musicians attractive, describing them as creative, artistic and mysterious. So footballers and politicians should watch out it looks like women are picking brains over brawn in the sexy professions stakes.
