While your face might have lit up on Christmas morning when you opened the bracelet from Tiffany’s or the Givenchy bag, it could be also sign that your partner is having an affair.

IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s leading dating website for married people and the leading authority on infidelity, can reveal the Christmas gifts that indicate that your partner might be having an affair.

The site surveyed 300 married men and 300 married women to find out the most popular gifts they bought for their partner this Christmas.

35% of men spoiled their wife with designer jewellery, with 27% hedging their bets on designer clothing.

Spending on designer goods didn’t stop there, with a further 20% spending big on a designer handbag.

The remaining 18% purchased anything ranging from spa days to shoes.

Women, on the other hand, predominantly bought their husbands designer clothing (24%).

20% went down the tech route, with Smart Watches and Smart Speakers such as the Amazon Echo or Google Home proving a popular gift of choice.

16% decided that a way to a man’s heart was through his stomach, and splashed out on expensive liquor, while 13% purchased came to the realisation that a man is nothing without his beard – they spent big on grooming products.

Critically, where both men and women agreed was on the motivations behind their high-end purchases.

A whopping 85% of men and 89% of women stated that they spent lavishly on their partner this Christmas purely out of guilt for their affair.

The site’s spokesperson, Christian Grant, explains:

“As you get older, and as you spend more and more time in the same relationship, Christmas becomes less about the gifts themselves and more about the act of giving.

“That’s why expensive and lavish gifts might not be a cause of celebration as you’d initially think.

“From the experienced adulterer to the first-timer, there’s an element of guilt, however small, that’s absolutely unavoidable.

“One small way to alleviate that guilt is to shower your significant other with material goods that you wouldn’t otherwise buy them.

“Money can’t buy happiness, but maybe it can buy you some peace of mind until you come to terms with your relationship status.”

Over One In Five Married People Had An Affair With A Colleague At The Christmas Party

  • Over one in five married people admitted to cheating at the work Christmas party
  • 30% kissed a co-worker or manager, while 10% slept with them
  • 18% got drunk and insulted their co-worker or boss
  • The results come from a survey of over 300 married people on IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s leading dating website for married people

Employees across the country are hoping that what happens at the work Christmas party stays at the work Christmas party. That’s because IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s leading dating website for married people and the leading authority on infidelity, can reveal that over one in five married people admitted to cheating with someone from work at their Christmas party.

In a survey of over 300 married people who frequent the site, 22% admitted to cheating in some form with a co-worker. Of that 22%, a massive 50% inappropriately flirted with a colleague, 10% seductively danced with them and 30% kissed them

The remaining 10% went the whole way, having slept with someone from work.

While there are those who didn’t give in to temptation, they’ll still be hoping their colleagues have short memories, as 18% got drunk and insulted their co-workers or boss and a further 35% embarrassed themselves with a show of bad karaoke and ‘dad dancing’.

The site’s spokesperson, Christian Grant, expands:

“Another year, another Christmas party, another series of inappropriate work-based affairs.

“There are no great surprises here. Affairs between colleagues are some of the most common, and the Christmas party removes the boundaries that would normally keep two colleagues from acting upon their feelings.

“Make no mistake, unlike some affairs, this is purely driven by lust. You’re lying to yourself if you’ve not mentally ranked your colleagues in order of attractiveness – we all have – but these adulterers are the ones who take it that one step further.

“Unfortunately, the long-term effects of bedding your colleague can be pretty damaging. You’ll have to face your colleague, or your boss, when you return to work, and there’s no way that situation can be anything other than incredibly awkward for everyone involved.

“Our advice? Make sure your thoughts about your colleagues remain as just thoughts, and save the affair for a situation that won’t ruin your career.”

Adulterous Behaviour Could Reach Record High As the UK Begins to Freeze

  • The heavy snow is leading to a huge increase in the amount of people seeking affairs
  • IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s leading dating website for married people, has seen a 45% week-on-week increase in the number of people signing up to the site as a result of the snow
  • The surge in subscriptions are most evident in parts of the country where the snow has hit hardest, such as the East Midlands, Wales and the South West
  • With the snow trapping many indoors, the cracks in their marriage begin to show
  • The site has taken on new staff to try and keep up with the increased demand
  • The most popular counties include Oxfordshire, Warwickshire and Gloucestershire, while Birmingham is the city that has seen the biggest surge

As large parts of the country experience heavy snowfall, an unexpected side effect has been the alarming rise in unhappy husbands and wives racing to married-dating websites in search of an affair. With the cold weather set to continue, how many marriages will have survived when the snow thaws?

IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s leading dating website for married people and the leading authority on infidelity, has seen a significant surge in subscriptions coinciding with the harsh winter that’s trapping the nation indoors.

The surge in subscriptions were most evident in parts of the country where the snow has hit hardest, with users in the East Midlands, Wales and the South West seeing as much as a 30% week-on-week increase in the number of people signing up to the site.

Taking everyone into account, the site has seen a 45% week-on-week increase in the number of people signing up from across the country, and that site has responded in kind, with extra staff hired and existing staff working overtime to keep up with demand.

The most popular counties include Oxfordshire, Warwickshire and Gloucestershire, while Birmingham is the city that has seen the biggest surge in members.

London, normally free of any significant snowfall, has also seen a 15% week-on-week increase in subscriptions, with the boroughs of Haringey and Tower Hamlets seeing the biggest surge.

IllicitEncounters.com’s spokesperson, Christian Grant, explains:

“After you’ve got a couple of hours of enjoyment playing around in the snow, the reality of being housebound with your partner kicks in; after just a few days, couples experience cabin fever. When a marriage is fractured, time away from your partner prevents the cracks from turning into chasms. But when you’re trapped indoors, instead of kicking your feet up and nestling in front of a cosy fireplace, many instead descend into arguments, and it doesn’t take very long for those arguments to spiral.

“It’s no coincidence to see so many people signing up to Illicit Encounters, then, especially those from areas that have been most affected by the snow. In fact, this isn’t the first occurrence of snow-led infidelity, which is why we have been able to prepare and quickly respond with additional staff members to cope with the increased demand.

“Although Christmas is only right around the corner, it seems as if there’s plenty of time for a few people to get themselves on the naughty list.”

Emergency services workers are most likely to cheat this Christmas

  • If your partner works for one of the emergency services this Christmas, then they’re more likely to cheat
  • IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s leading dating website for married people saw a 65% month-on-month increase in the amount of emergency services workers signing up
  • The total number of said employees on the site stands at 55,000
  • There was a 40% increase in activity among its emergency services workers, which includes more messages sent and more photos uploaded
  • 200 emergency services employees were surveyed, with 39% admitting to have engaged in a fling over Christmas in the past; 21% said they’ve had a fling with a colleague.

If your partner works for one of the emergency services this Christmas, then they’re more likely to cheat. IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s leading dating website for married people and the leading authority on infidelity, can reveal a significant 65% month-on-month increase in the amount of emergency services workers signing up to the site.

It’s a tremendous increase, one that brings the total number of said employees on the site to just under 55,000.

The site also saw a 40% increase in activity among its emergency services workers, which includes more messages sent, more profiles edited and more photos uploaded.

With Christmas requiring more attention and dedication to family, adulterers typically find it very difficult to sneak away for a Christmas fling, but emergency services workers such as firemen or policemen, with their irregular work hours, have no such problem.

Their alibi is already set in stone. They can tell their partner they’re on call, and then sneak away for a salacious rendezvous with their mistress/histress.

This isn’t a new phenomenon. 200 emergency services employees were surveyed by the site, with 39% admitting to have engaged in a fling over Christmas in the past, with 21% stating that they had a fling with a colleague.

The site’s spokesperson, Christian Grant, explains:

“Tis the season to be jolly, except if you’re an adulterer. From nativity plays, to Christmas shopping, to spending unwanted time with the in-laws, juggling one relationship around the festive period is difficult enough, let alone two.

“However, the aforementioned emergency services workers find themselves in a unique position. Needless to say, while many don’t have an affair on the job, they can tell their partner that they’ve been summoned to work and are on call, sneak away for a couple of hours and the job’s done.”
