The Mistress Card range has been launched by Illicitencounters.com – the UK’s largest website for married people seeking affairs.

Many of the cards in the range at Mistresscards.com are aimed at adulterers celebrating their affair’versary while others are designed for married people to send to someone they fancy and invite them to embark on a secret relationship.

Most of the cards are aimed at men although others are aimed at married women to send to their lovers – or Histresses.

The full range can be viewed and shared at Mistresscards.com and IllicitEncounters.com is expecting a huge number of its 900,000 UK members and the general public to make use of the service.

The website is now in talks with several leading card retailers about stocking the new range which are also for sale through Mistresscards.com.

The decision to launch the range came after a survey found married men spend 12% more on gifts for their mistresses than their wives.

The poll, which looked at spending on Christmas gifts, found married men spent an average of £124 on festive gifts for their lovers compared to just £109 on their spouse.

Lovers were far more likely to be given romantic and intimate presents such as lingerie while wives were more likely to receive practical gifts such as a new Dyson.

In another study it was also revealed that 32% of adulterers admitted they were more likely to remember an important date such as a birthday or anniversary of their mistress than that of their own husband or wife.

Mike Taylor of Illicitencounters.com said: “With one person in every ten couples actively looking for a new relationship on our site, and many more having affairs in their workplace, or with someone they met in a bar or even with a partner’s sibling, we shouldn’t be surprised that a card celebrating what can be a very fulfilling and exciting experience would have enormous interest.

“We have seen a huge social shift with more acceptance for people who may not find themselves completely satisfied with their marriage.

“In the UK we have been playing ‘catch up’ with the continent who have long excepted and celebrated mistresses and histresses as a natural and healthy occurrence with in a happy relationship.”
