It was once believed that men don’t make passes at girls who wear glasses, it turns out the saying is rather outdated as more and more people find the bespectacled look attractive.

According to new research conducted by IllicitEncounters.com the UK’s largest extra-marital dating site wearing glasses can increase your likelihood of having an affair.

The study surveyed 800 of its members and found that 74% of affair-seekers wore glasses compared to 69% of the general public*

The study also found that 82% of members thought glasses looked attractive.

In addition those surveyed were asked how much they spent on glasses and found that a woman spends £120-£150, whereas a man would only spend £50-£90.

It is interesting to note that more of the cheating population wear glasses then those that don’t. Perhaps the fact that a large proportion of men and women find glasses attractive means that those who wear glasses have more sexual interest than those that don’t – making them a target for someone wanting to live out a fantasy with a bespectacled lover.

Techies are logging on to married dating sites!

The affairs site currently has 13,200 active users who work in Information Technology, with a spike of 12% in the last year alone. Interestingly the year before IT workers using the site were on the decline by 5%.

The most significant rise of techies signing up to the site is seen in London – possibly coinciding with many of the hot new tech start-ups popping up all over East London, creating a tech-savvy culture hub of likeminded individuals. Adulteresses spend more getting ready for lovers than their husbands!

Women spend more time and money getting ready for an affair than on dates with their husbands.

A new poll conducted by IllicitEncounters.com the UK’s largest extra-marital dating site has found that on average women spend six times the amount of time and money preparing for a date with their lover than they do with their spouse having surveyed 2000 of it’s female members.

The findings reveal that the average time spent getting ready to meet their husbands is 30 minutes compared to 3 hours getting ready to meet their lover.

The average amount spent on preparing for a date with their husband was ‘£25 or less’ compared to ‘£150 or more’ for their lover.

Out of those surveyed 72% of women said they go to the Salon to prepare for their affair-meet.

Those who went to the Salon were asked what services they used and the results reveal getting a ‘Blow Dry’ as the top affair preparation with 63% of women opting for this service.

Sara a member on the site said “Why should I put in the effort with my husband when he can barely be bothered to get off his backside to take me anywhere. The most effort he’s ever put in is taking me to the local Indian restaurant we’ve been going to for the last 12 years.

A new survey by IllicitEncounters.com the UK’s largest extra-marital dating website has placed Premier Inn as the hotel most often used by adulterers.

The study surveyed 2000 of its members and found that an overwhelming 40% of affair seekers choose to book with Premier Inn for their rendezvous.

Second most voted for hotel chain was Travelodge (22%), and in third place Holiday Inn (11%).

The Premier Inn that was most visited by adulterers was selected as Premier Inn London Kensington Olympia Hotel.

Premier Inn is the UK’s biggest Hotel brand, totaling 690 hotels in Britain. It seems that quantity may trump quality over hotel bookings, with more deluxe hotels getting fewer overall votes.

The top reasons given for hotel choice were-

Adulterers tend to be healthier than those that remain faithful to their partners.

Statistics from the UK’s largest extra-marital dating site IllicitEncounters.com reveal that the healthier you are the more likely you are to have an affair.

The married affairs site screened over 500,000 of its member’s profiles and discovered that 88% of affair seekers don’t smoke and 25% don’t drink, with another 68% describing themselves as only light or social drinkers.

The research also discovered that 39% of members described their body shape as Slim or Athletic.

Only 8% of the surveyed described themselves as Cuddly or Very Cuddly.

With studies indicating that 60% of men and 45% of women will at some point partake in extra-marital sex* – these findings can link the type of person that will cheat with their general health and physical appearance.

Luke a member of the site said “The general consensus is that someone who cheats is going to be a philandering loser the likes of what you would see on Jeremy Kyle.
