Leading extramarital dating website, IllicitEncounters.com, has released its largest ever study to discover what regional men find attractive in women. Illicit Encounters surveyed 1,500 of its male members in each region of the UK, to find out what personality and physical traits they look for in their dream partner.
South of England: Savvy men in the South are attracted to a woman who is smart, cool and on trend. They like a slim, sharp dresser who works hard and plays hard. Striking and tall at 5ft 11inches, coupled with a personality that is up for anything gets the vote of the Southern quarter.
Think: Amber Heard
The Midlands: The warm men of the Midlands are looking for ladies with equally nurturing personalities, a big heart and a love of good food. A tall busty beauty with a cracking sense of humour, and a height of 5ft 5 inches would tick all their boxes in the search for Ms right.
Think: Christina Hendricks
North of England: These guys like a laugh and some sweet loving teamed with loyalty and an appreciation of family life. They are looking for a best friend who is bubbly, brunette and one of the boys. Height wasn’t as important as a gorgeous smile and a sexy giggle in the North.
Think: Cheryl Cole
Ireland: The luck of the Irish ladies depends on sexiness and confidence, with an air of mystery and tease. Ladies with classically pretty features, and an ultra feminine side teamed with a sassy attitude captivate Irish men nationwide. Blondes were also preferred to brunettes.
Think: Scarlett Johansson
Scotland: Not only do they like their independence as a nation, they also like their ladies to be strong, feisty and in control of their own lives. Sultry dark hair, deep brown eyes and an average desired height of 5ft 8inches gets the under the kilt of these guys each time.
Think: Beyoncé
Wales: Welsh Men are on the lookout for a woman who averages 5ft 7inches tall, has long dark hair and a classic hourglass figure. 100% all woman is want the Welsh want, along with a lady who is game for a laugh, chatty and social.

What this study shows is that there is not ‘one type’ of woman for all men, and that you are probably someone’s type, even if you have to go across country to find them.”
The study also asked the male respondents to anonymously rate what they felt was more important for a relationship: personality or physical appearance. The results showed that a staggering 68% of men said that they found personality as or more important as physical appearance.
