• Londoners make the best lovers, a new survey of 1,000 men and 1,000 women has revealed
• Men voted women from Newcastle as the second-best lovers with 14% of the vote, with women from Cardiff being the worst (4%)
• Women found men from Liverpool as the second-best lovers (13%), with men from Birmingham voted the worst lovers in the UK (4%)
• Over half of women also thought men from Birmingham were “too small”, while 65% thought men from London were well endowed

Londoners are officially the best between the sheets, a new survey has revealed. Over 1,000 men and 1,000 women from IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s leading dating website for married people and the leading authority on infidelity, were asked about their best sexual experiences, with Londoners receiving 20% and 19% of the male and female vote.

Blokes found women from Newcastle the second best in bed, followed by Dubliners and Glaswegians.

Interestingly, women from Cardiff were voted the worst in bed with just 4% of the overall vote, with Liverpudlian woman narrowly missing out on bottom place with 5%.

63% of men said that women from London were more adventurous in bed, while 77% thought that women from Cardiff had the opposite problem, being too boring in-between the sheets.

Women, meanwhile, voted men from Liverpool as the second best lay, followed by Mancunians and men from Dublin.

Unfortunately for men from Birmingham, they are officially the worst in bed, receiving just 4% of the vote.

To add insult to injury, 51% of women said that men from Birmingham were disappointing in bed because they were “too small.”

They had no such problems with men from London however, with almost two-thirds (65%) finding Londoners to be well endowed.

“Not that it needed it, but there’s another good reason to visit London,” said the site’s spokesperson, Christian Grant.

“London is one of the most diverse and multicultural places on the planet, with people from every background possible, and that brings with it the opportunity for different sexual experiences – there’s something for everyone.

“The same can’t be said for women from Cardiff however, who seemingly lack the flair of a London lass.

“And if anyone tells you that women don’t care about size, the men of Birmingham are the living embodiment that that is simply not true.”

The week of Unfaithful Friday see’s 30% more activity on married-dating website IllicitEncounters.com than any other week in November and December, as married men and women look for a last-minute romp before they return to their otherwise dull marriage.

In a survey of over 300 members on the site who’ve already found themselves a mistress, a whopping 72% sneak away on Unfaithful Friday for one final rendezvous before the year’s end, with 20% even spending the entire weekend with their alternate lover.

While 85% of adulterers regularly keep in contact with their mistress via text, phone or Face Time, the long-distance relationship simply isn’t enough to satiate their desires for weeks on end.

The most popular getaway destination for adulterers on the weekend of Unfaithful Friday is the Alps (18%), followed by Cotswold’s (15%), Central London (13%), Lake District (10%), Norway (8%), which is famous for the Northern Lights, and Austria (5%), which is well-known for its romantic Christmas markets.

The site’s spokesperson, Christian Grant, explains:

“Unfaithful Friday, and the days that succeed it, represents the last chance an adulterer has to sneak away with their mistress.

“In the weeks to come, they’ll simply be overwhelmed with nativity plays, Christmas shopping, decorating and of course Christmas and New Year’s. Their kids will have time off from school, and their familial responsibilities will take priority.

You keep your friends close and your mistresses closer, a new survey suggests. In a survey of over 700 married men on IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s leading dating website for married people and the leading authority on infidelity, almost half (48%) admitted to cheating with someone close to home.

Nannies took 1st place with 25% of the vote, beating off stiff competition in the form of long-term friends (18%), housekeepers (17%) sisters-in-law (12%), mothers-in-law (10%) and even their best friend’s partner (5%).

Explaining this trend is Christian Grant, spokesperson for IllicitEncounters.com:

“An affair can sometimes be much more convenient when it’s closer to home. While it might seem more difficult to cover up, given the risk of getting caught by your spouse, it’s also a lot easier to fall for someone you already know.

“It’s also a lot easier to organise, given that the nanny is likely to visit your house fairly often and probably lives nearby. And if your wife happens to catch her name flashing on your phone, she’s unlikely to be suspicious as to why you’re messaging her – she’s your children’s nanny, you have a valid reason to be talking to her.

“All you have to do is wait for the moment your wife inevitably slips out one evening to meet with friends and the rest takes care of itself; the nanny is the perfect Trojan horse.

“The archetypal nanny is also an upgrade on what I suppose many adulterers would consider to be last year’s model – their wife. Young and beautiful, the nanny could very well represent what these men’s wives once looked like in their youth, and having a younger version of their wife within touching distance is too great of a lure to resist.

“It’s for similar reasons – convenience and an already established relationship – that colleagues, long-term friends and even sisters-in-law appear to be popular choices.”

While the idea of an affair with the nanny might appear too much of a cliché or stereotype, it’s more common than you might think.

In fact, Ben Affleck and Gavin Rossdale are just two examples of people who’ve had long-term affairs with their children’s nannies – in the case of Gavin Rossdale, his nanny notoriously bears a striking resemblance to his ex, Gwen Stefani.

Ethan Hawke, formerly attached to Uma Thurman, and Robin Williams (allegedly) also had affairs with their children’s nannies, while Arnold Schwarzenegger infamously had a scandalous affair with his family’s housekeeper.

Retail Workers Are More Likely to be Cheated On This Xmas Than Anyone Else

• Retailers working long hours during the Christmas period has left their partner’s feeling lonely, hence the increase in the amount looking to cheat
• In a separate survey of over 200 retailers on IllicitEncounters.com, 30% admitted to having previously cheated with a colleague
• 10% also admitted to sleeping with a colleague during their place of work.

They’ll be working late hours to help spread the Christmas cheer, but behind their back, their partners are being naughty, not nice.

IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s leading dating website for married people and the leading authority on infidelity, surveyed over 800 people who registered to the site since the beginning of November and found that 15% of respondents were married to someone who worked in retail.

The site’s spokesperson, Christian Grant, explains:

“Needless to say, it’s one of, if not the, busiest time of the year for those who work in retail. That means they’ll be working longer hours, taking on more shifts, and generally spending more and more time at work, and less and less time at home as a result.

“While it’s something that can’t be helped, that doesn’t stop the opposite number in this relationship from feeling lonely and without some much needed company.

“It’s only natural, then, that someone’s thoughts stray towards an affair, even if it’s something short-term until the Christmas period ends and their partner’s work routine returns to a state of normality.”

Interestingly, a scenario may develop where both parties are cheating on each other simultaneously.

In a separate survey of over 200 retailers on IllicitEncounters.com, 30% admitted to having previously cheated with a colleague, with 10% even sleeping with them during their place of work.

“It works both ways,” explains Grant.

“Again, while it isn’t the fault of the retailer, they too can’t help but feel detached from their partner. And when you’re cooped up with others for an extended period of time, you begin to forge friendships.

“If both you and your colleague both having similar feelings of loneliness, it’s easy to see how one thing can lead to another…”

The site has also seen as many as twice as many messages sent compared to last week, with users spending more time on the site on average.

Christian Grant, the site’s spokesperson, explains why this is more than just happenstance:

“The clocks going back afford us more time in bed, but they allow for a lot more when it comes to adultery.

“Pitch black afternoons aren’t exactly joyful, especially for those who wait long hours at home for their partner to return from work, and it’s in these moments of upsetting reflection that someone may realise how fractured their marriage is.

“As a result, they decided to warm up their cold, dark afternoons, with a steamy affair being the perfect remedy.”

But it isn’t just the doom and gloom of long winter nights that increase our likelihood of cheating, it’s the security that they afford us.

“An affair won’t happen if it can’t,” says Grant.

“What I mean by that is, if someone has no alibi – no decent excuse to leave the house – and they’re fearful of getting caught, they won’t take that risk – the consequences are too great.”

However, in a study of over 500 people on IllicitEncounters.com, 79% agreed that it was easier to cheat during after the clocks go back.

“Avoiding being caught when you’re cheating is obviously the number one priority,” says Grant.

“The darker days lend to this quite well, as does the colder weather. You can wrap up well, covering your face with a ski mask if you really want to, and few would bat an eyelid; you’ve got a bit more anonymity to meet your secret lover, which is particularly important for those who cheat close to home and are more prone to spotting a familiar face.”

In the same survey, 60% said that they had more time to cheat during the winter months, too.

“With half-term ending, there isn’t an extended school holiday for parents until Christmas,” says Grant.

“Their lives are just a little less busy with their children at school during the day. When you team that with the aforementioned dark afternoons and the cover that the darkness provides, it’s a potent mix that’s ripe for affairs.”
